Garages were identified as a distinct type of outbuilding as early as 1911. Based on earlier carriage house designs, garages were originally detached structures, typically set to the rear of the house. Later, as cars became a standard household item, garages became part of the integral house design, often becoming the most prominant feature on the main elevation on modern homes.

Historic Shed offers custom designed traditional detached garages for Florida homes. We build our designs as panelized sections in that are assemble on site on a pre-poured concrete slab foundation. Both one and two-car designs are available with either overhead or carriage house style doors.
