Wood Window Screens

Many historic homes no longer have authentic wood window screens. Either the screens were removed due to disrepair, or replacement windows were installed with modern metal framed screens. This results in a loss of function since the windows are no longer opened during the most pleasant months as well as a loss of aesthetics since wood window screens add an additional dimension of color and depth to windows.

Historic Shed offers traditional wood window screens built for your historic Florida home renovation with the following features:

  • Custom made for a perfect fit
  • Constructed of naturally rot-resistant Cypress
  • Several screening options available: aluminum or fiberglass in natural, charcoal and black, or heavy duty
  • Primed and painted to your color specification
  • Mounting hardware included
  • Available for all window types
  • We measure, build and install, or will build to your specifications and deliver
  • Wood window screens add an extra dimension to windows. Traditionally painted black, forest green, or another dark accent color, authentic window screens enhance the look of a historic house. Wood window screens can hide non-historic replacement windows (you know, the ugly aluminum ones from the 70s and 80s), restoring the historic look of your home for a fraction of the cost of full window replacements. Of course, we still recommend getting good, historically appropriate wood windows as budget allows. historic_shed005009.jpg historic_shed005003.jpg
